Brad Newitt

Brad Newitt enters his 6th season with the South Dakota Heat for the 2015 summer.  He currently teaches AP Physics and Engineering in the Sioux Falls School District and serves as a college basketball analyst for Midco Sports Network. 

Coach Newitt spent 10 years as an assistant coach at the University of Sioux Falls under three different head coaches.   In addition to his time at USF, Newitt also served as Graduate Assistant coach at the University of South Dakota under head coach Dave Boots for two seasons. 

Newitt is a 1996 graduate of Kansas State University and is married to Barb Newitt.  Together they have three children.
 

Paul McVey

Paul McVey enters his 3rd season with the South Dakota Heat for the summer of 2015.  Coach McVey is the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Lennox High School.  He has served as an assistant basketball coach at Lennox High School, Sioux Falls Lincoln High School, and Cheyenne Central High School (WY). 

Coach McVey played college basketball at the University of Sioux Falls (2006) where he was coached and recruited by current South Dakota Heat coach Brad Newitt.  McVey also played junior college basketball at Eastern Wyoming College (2003), and high school basketball at Kelly Walsh High School (2001) in Casper, Wyoming. 

Coach McVey’s wife, Machel, is a 3rd Grade teacher in Lennox and former USF basketball player.  They have two kids.

Louie Krogman

Louie Krogman is entering his 2nd year with the South Dakota Heat program in 2015. Coach Krogman played with the South Dakota Heat program during the summers of 2007 and 2008.

He is a graduate of White River High School and is one of the most decorated players ever to step on the hardwood in the state of South Dakota.  He finished his high school career as the all time leading scorer in South Dakota High School history.  He led White River to the 2008 Class B State Championship and was named Mr. Basketball for South Dakota in 2008.

After high school he went on to stellar career at the University of South Dakota.  During his time at USD, he helped lead the transition for the Coyotes into Division I basketball.  He graduated from USD 6th on the all time scoring list and 2nd in career 3 pointers made.

Coach Krogman is currently a teacher at Todd County High School.
